How bed rest began...

So some people wonder how I  actually ended up on bed rest so here is the story....

I train horses for a living, It can be quite an intense job and I spend a ton of time traveling and NOT sleeping. This is me riding "Frankie" one of the horses I train, he  has nothing to do with the story I just like this picture.....

Between the championship show in TN, and another big horse show called The Congress that is in OH, I came home for ONE weekend JUST  for my best friend Laura's wedding.  Laura and I have been best friends since preschool. Both Lili & June were also in the wedding.... They were really excited as you can see...

Anyway I was literally standing up watching my friend take the marital plunge when it started.... contractions!  @#$%^!!!  At first I thought maybe it is just the stupid heels that I was wearing. Or the fact that I was cinched in to the dress too tight.  Maybe it was the fact that June was throwing a major tantrum while I was silently wishing I could use a tazer on her to make her quiet. Unfortunately, they just kept getting worse. So after much deliberation Adam & I decided we needed to leave and go to the ER.  We sped the 3 hours home (got pulled over by the police on the way...ouch)  When we arrived our neighbor Sue came over to stay with the girls while we went to the hospital.

This is Sue

She is VERY trustworthy....

I was admitted to the hospital and put on lots of drugs that made my heart race super fast.  By this time, I was going nuts because the day after the wedding I was supposed to be on my way to OH with one of my favorite clients, Anna. @#$%^^%!!!!!!! VERY unhappy Jen......

This is Anna & me the previous weekend ( I was rapping on the way up  to her class, I feel rapping helps calm my riders before they do really important things...or it amuses me......one or the other)

After 5 days in the hospital with lots of contraction stopping drugs, I was  finally allowed to go home. But I was on STRICT bed rest. LAAAAAAAAAAAAAME  VERY VERY unhappy Jen... plus no going to Ohio. Luckily I was able to talk to Anna and her Mom throughout the horse show and they did an amazing job. They both deserve some serious credit for handling a very sticky situation so well. Not only did they keep it all together, they were so sweet and sent me some yummy Harry & David while I was in the hospital :)

This is Anna in Ohio doing awesome! (she really missed my rapping though...)

I was not only supposed to be in OH for training purposes,  but I am also the youth adviser for our state team that was participating at that competition. I was blessed to have the help of friends  and family that made sure all of the things I was supposed to be taking care of in Ohio was getting done while I was in the hospital.  THANKS FRIENDS &  FAMILY !!!!

So now....I am at home..........in bed............sitting...........

  1. You are awesome Jen!! You might not be a writer as such, but I love your sense of humor (even if this whole thing isn't funny). This blog is a great idea and will be a really good way to pass the time over the next *few* weeks. (I'm not going to say the number. It's too big. Maybe when it's in the single digits I'll say it out loud to you, but til then I just think of it as a *few* weeks.)

If you need other stuff to do while you're sitting in bed, maybe I can have Lili and June come for an extended sleepover here, and I'll send all of my photo editing to you. I have a TON to do, and am tired of sitting in front of the computer. Sound good?
